Their youngest boys are very active in their schools, music, sports, youth group activities, and serving as assistant Drum Major for his High School band.
Currently, Mrs. Miller is continuing to teach general music to the students at East Jackson Elementary Young 5's thru 6th grade and directing East Jackson Elementary Beginning band musicians. Mr. Miller is the director of remote learning at Davis Middle School for Hillsdale Community Schools.
Students that participate in these general music courses this year will be taught the language of music through participation and application. They will be exposed to a variety of genres from all regions around the world. They will also be enlightened to the role that the arts play in their daily lives as a youth and in their future adult years. During music class, students are busy reading and writing music, performing and composing music, moving to music, learning about music, and playing instruments. It is my hope that children leave EJE as active music makers with the skills to take them in whatever musical direction they choose. Please take the time to encourage your children in their musical activities. Ask them to share new songs or dances with you! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!

A second quote from a current employer of our next generation:
Arts education aids students in skills needed in the workplace: flexibility, the ability to solve problems and communicate, the ability to learn new skills, to be creative and innovative, and to strive for excellence.”
